LA BLAUGRANA IS SET TO SEAL A MOVE FOR SEVILLA’S CLEMENT LENGLET IN THE COMING WEEKS DELIVERING A BLOW TO MANCHESTER UNITED.
The Red Devils were eager for a top-class centre-back as manager Jose Mourinho had identified Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti as one of the next players at Old Trafford. However, the 24-year-old signed a new deal with the Catalonian club which ended any further rumors of a move away from the Camp Nou.
United then turned their attention towards Sevilla central defender Clement Lenglet but it looks like Barcelona are to have the upper hand deal in this negotiation as well

According to Goal, Barcelona is close to agreeing on a deal with Sevilla regarding a move for Lenglet. Apart from Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti, the La Liga champions do not have any experienced defenders in the heart of the back line which is why Barcelona are keen on Lenglet’s services.
The Spanish giants are now stepping up their offer to £31 million to sign Lenglet and the deal should be completed before the World Cup begins. But due to Financial Fair Play restrictions, Barcelona cannot sign a player until July 1st.
Sevilla already seems pessimistic over the negotiations even though they aren’t willing to let Lenglet leave this summer. The 22-year-old has been rock solid for the Spanish outfit but his release clause of €35 million will be matched comfortably by Barcelona as they prepare themselves for the Champions League next season
Manchester United too will have to start looking at alternatives for defenders in the market as the English giants will hope to compete for the Premier League next term.
