Mourinho agrees $62.2m deal for player and speaks on what he brings

ose Mourinho believes his new midfield signing is the missing link in the Manchester United squad after agreeing the $62.2m transfer deal.

Fred’s arrival was confirmed on Thursday as the Red Devils defeated Manchester City and other top European sides in the race for his signature.

Mourinho is understandably delighted to have signed the Brazilian and the United boss believes the 25-year-old will bring the presence in midfield which his team might have lost through the retirement of Michael Carrick.

“Fred is the complement we need in our midfielders qualities, his creative brain and passing vision will give us another dimension to our game.” the United boss said

“I am very happy he is joining our club and I believe our players know how important he can

be in our team.”

Mourinho made signing a new midfielder his priority this summer after it became obvious that he may lose Marouane Fellaini in addition to Michael Carrick, who has already chosen to hung up his boots.
