Good News: Announcement imminent, as club signs Liverpool target’s replacement

Liverpool have received good news in the pursuit of Lazio Goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha as the Italian club are close to signing a replacement.

Strakosha has been linked with the Reds after an impressive season with the capital club. Liverpool are currently in search of a goalkeeper to replace error prone goalies, Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet.

The Anfield outfit have identified the Albania star as a cheaper alternative to main target Alisson. Allison was a major target for the Reds this summer. However, Roma demanded a fee of over £60 million for the Brazilian stopper. Strakosha reportedly has a buyout clause of £26 million and Liverpool chiefs are keen to secure the deal before the end of the month.

Lazio are open to a sale and have reportedly lined up Belgian international Silvio Proto as Strakosha’s replacement.  The transfer is expected to be announced this week and would pave way for Strakosha to exit Italy.

Klopp is reportedly a huge fan of Strakosha and is keen to work with the Albanian. Klopp believes the stopper has the potential to become one of the best in his position. Strakosha signed for Lazio in 2012 and has made 58 appearances for the Italian side.
He helped Lazio finish fifth in the league last season and was named best young keeper in Serie A last season.
