Liverpool ready to pay £40m for Italian goalkeeper

Liverpool could make a bid to sign AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma if Simon Mignolet ends up leaving Anfield, according to reports in Italy. Italian newspaper reports that the Reds are considering making a move for the teenager should Mignolet future become a source of uncertainty.
The Italian has played over 100 games in all tournaments for the Rossoneri already, possessing an impressive 39 clean sheets for his problems. He’s played four caps for the Italian national side and appears to have a great future ahead of him.

The youngster came close to exiting the San Siro last summer, before making a U-turn on the decision to secure a new deal. But, latest stories claim he will be leaving Milan in the coming months to join Liverpool. It’s sad news for PSG as they’d been watching his development for over 12 months.

According to the story, Liverpool are considering the possibility of selling Mignolet this summer to avoid the risk of losing him on a free transfer as he contracted with the club until 2021. And the same report says that the west Reds side are now tracking AC Milan starlet Donnarumma with a view to a possible summer move for the goalkeeper.
