Done Deal: Kante to complete PSG move: Chelsea table €40m bid for replacement
According to emerging reports, Chelsea
are lining up move for Lyon midfielder Tanguy N’Dombele as a potential
replacement for N’Golo Kante who is likely to join Paris Saint-Germain
when the World Cup ends this summer. Kante joined Chelsea for a reported
£32 million from Leicester City two years ago, and has been heavily
linked with a move back to his hometown this summer.
And, if reports from France bears fruit,
it’s believed the Ligue 1 champions’ sporting director Antoro Henrique
was in London to held talks with Chelsea about a potential deal for the
27-year-old.
As it stands, it appears Kante himself
would be interested in joining PSG, although the Frenchman is reportedly
waiting to see the outcome of the club’s managerial ambitions for the
upcoming season.
On Monday, French outlet L’Equipe
reported Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur have opened talks with
Lyon president over the signing of N’Dombele.
But it was same report that claims
Chelsea have made a direct approach with the midfielders’
representatives to plan ahead should Kante eventually joins PSG this
summer. Lyon rejected Chelsea’s opening offer of €40m (£35m) who the
club values around €60m (£53m).
Although, Kante has refuted claims linking him with away move from Chelsea during a post-match conference for France on Sunday.
“I am not concerned with all that,’ said the midfielder.
“Today, I am at Chelsea, and today I am currently living and playing in the World Cup, that is what comes first.
“I am not paying attention to what is being said on the club side of things at the moment.”
