Arsenal have fans have taken to social media to welcome midfielder Lucas Torreira to the club ahead of his proposed move from Sampdoria this summer.

Torreira, according to reports, is just “days away” from completing his move to Arsenal, according to reports. The North London club have reportedly agreed a €30m (£26.2m) fee with Sampdoria, leaving only his medicals and personal terms be agreed.

The Uruguay international is currently on international duty with his nation at the World Cup, meaning Arsenal will be sending the club’s officials to Russia to complete his signings in the coming days.

Report from the Daily Express claimed the Gunners could then announce the midfielder’s arrival before Uruguay’s clash against Saudi Arabia on Wednesday afternoon.

Reports claimed the Gunners new manager Unai Emery was only given a transfer kitty of £50 million to spend this summer, so is having to carefully manage transfer business this summer.

His third signing is widely considered to one of the most promising and skillful midfielders across Europe, and it seems the Gunners supporters cannot wait to see what the Uruguay has to offer for the club next season.
