Fred hails new teammate Matic

Manchester United new boy Fred has thanked his new teammate Nemanja Matic after he introduced himself at the end of Brazil’s 2-0 victory over Serbia.

Matic’s Serbia side were knocked out of the World Cup on Wednesday after Brazil’s victory, but that didn’t deter the midfielder from having a few words with his new teammate Fred afterwards.

25-year-old Fred signed a five-year contract with United, moving from Shakhtar Donetsk for a reported fee of £52million.

United’s midfield looks like one of the strongest in the league at present with the inclusion of Fred, and if you fancy the Red Devils’ chances at Premier League glory next season,

The Brazilian is yet to feature at the World Cup this summer, but found time to exchange shirts and chat with Matic following Wednesday’s match in Moscow – someone Fred believes will be a ‘great teammate’.
“It was a nice chat with him, he welcomed me for coming to the great club that is Manchester,” Fred said. “We exchanged shirts, too, he will be a great teammate.”
“It’s a big change, but I have not stopped yet … It still hasn’t set in, I’m very focused here on the World Cup.
“I do not think much about it, but it’s a great club in Europe, it’s one of the biggest, so I’m very happy for that.”
