The Atletico Madrid forward is staying in La Liga, according to his national team manager

France coach Didier Deschamps said one part of Antoine Griezmann's club future was clear – the Atletico Madrid forward is staying in Spain.

Griezmann is expected to announce his future  before his nation's World Cup campaign begins against Australia on Saturday.

The 27-year-old is linked with a move to La Liga champions Barcelona, but he may yet remain at Atletico.

Meanwhile Manchester United was heavily linked with Griezmann last summer, with some reports stating their interest has been rekindled this year.

However, Deschamps appeared to put an end to talk of a move to England, as he said at a news confernece on Monday that the forward was staying in Spain.

"There is talk about their [Griezmann and Lyon captain Nabil Fekir's] futures," Deschamps told a news conference.
"It's not ideal but I won't be able to have ideal conditions anyway.

"But Antoine will remain in Spain, that much is clear, so no worries."

Barcelona are reportedly ready to trigger Griezmann's €100 million release clause.

However, the move is no sure thing and La Liga's president declared his belief this week that both Griezmann and Cristiano Ronaldo will remain at their respective clubs in the Spanish captial for the upcoming season.
