Former Tottenham Manager Fancy Liverpool To Be The Champions

Liverpool is the strong favorites to win the English Premier League this season after the strong show last year and reaching the finals of Champions League. 

Liverpool was once the superpower in the premier league and English football but are not able to win any league title since 1990. Liverpool reached most close to win the premier league in the 2013-14 season under Brendan Rogers when they lost just by 2 points to eventual champions Manchester City.

This year Liverpool is the strong favorite to win the title after there strong performance against West Ham and will able to go toe-to-toe against Pep Guardiola Manchester City for the title.

Redknapp told to Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast when asked about his opinion,“I fancy Liverpool this year, I like the look of them. I think they will run Manchester City very close. City will be favorites, but if Kevin de Bruyne is out for a few months that’s a big blow. I think Liverpool could mount a real challenge this year.

“You look at their forward power now, the front three are incredible, Daniel Sturridge came off the bench the other day and scored and Xherdan Shaqiri is there, he’s another player with great ability. I think they could be the real threat this season to Manchester City. If they’re going to do it, it’s going to be this season.”

Harry seems to be pleased with the players and the manager and thinks that both the teams have lots of similarities in their way of playing and managers personality. He added,“They seem to have a great spirit there, the manager is a like Pep, he’s got a great personality and the players seem to like him. I think this could be Liverpool’s year to win a championship again.”


Liverpool has done lots of big transfer to strengthen their shortcomings from last season from their goalkeeping department to midfield to make a strong formidable side to aim for the pinnacle of the Premier League this season.
