David Luiz takes dig at Conte, hails new coach Sarri’s style

David Luiz has taken shots at former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte by speaking about the great philosophy and incredible spirit under his new manager, Maurizio Sarri.

It appeared at a time last season as if the days of the Brazilian defender at Stamford Bridge were numbered as rumours kept growing of a rift on the sidelines.

He has finally admitted suspicions, with a tense relationship with the former boss of Blues Conte worsening during a long battle with injuries.

Luiz, however, has returned to playing again Sarri after the arrival of the Italian in the summer, the 31-year-old is now enjoying his football again.

He told Chelsea’s official website that It’s always great to play football, especially after being away for about six or seven months.

I’m enjoying it a lot, we have a great philosophy, a great manager and an incredible spirit in the team, so it’s great to be playing, he said.

We are trying to get points at the beginning because, as everyone knows, it is a new system and a new philosophy, so we try to give the best.

It’s not easy to win points in the Premier League, so if we can get them now, at the beginning of the season, when we adapt to the style, it will be even better for us, the brazilian added.

Chelsea have opened their 2018-19 campaign by earning maximum points from their first three games.
