€35m-rated centre-back staying in Man United

Man United manager Jose Mourinho tried to add new defender in this transfer window but no one joined the Red Devils in this summer. The Portuguese coach was desperate about failed deals but he found out the perfect way to fix back-line problems. Victor Lindelof joined Man United last season and had not a good start and Jose prepared to loan him in the low-level club to get more experience but finally, Swedish footballer stayed in Manchester. He made the right decision as played perfectly during the pre-season and first Premier League game against Leicester.

Victor joined the Red Devils from Benfica in 2017 with a £32m deal. Last season he made only 39 games in all competition and this was a terrible result for the player. But now situation changed and he started to play regularly and what is most important improved his skills. Juventus and Lyon were interested to add 24-year-old defender but Jose decided to give him chance to prove his greatness and Portugal international hopes justified.
Sweden international is contracted with Man United until 2021 and his release clause is around £40m. Red Devils have too many centre-backs like Rojo, Smalling, Bailly, Jones but Lindelof became the best one and got a regular place in starting line-up.
