Salah had a stunning debut campaign at Anfield, winning the Golden Boot and a clean sweep of the Player of the Year awards in England.
And his key role in helping Liverpool reach the Champions League final has now been recognised by European football’s governing body.
However he faces stiff competition in the form of ex-Madrid team-mates Modric and Ronaldo
Ronaldo could also land the prize for the part he played in getting the Spanish giants to the Ukraine showpiece, before packing his bags for Juventus later in the year.
Alongside Salah in the race for Uefa prize is new Reds No.1 Alisson.
He’s been named in the Goalkeeper of the Year category for his displays for former club Roma and Brazil.
As well being in the hunt for the Player of the Year award, Salah is also in the Forward of the Season category.
Ronaldo is also in the frame, along with Barcelona star Lionel Messi.
The shortlist of three players was selected by a Uefa panel of the 80 coaches who managed sides in the group stages of last season’s Champions League and Europa League.
The women's award will go to either Pernille Harder (Denmark and Wolfsburg), Ada Hegerberg (Norway and Lyon) or Amandine Henry (France and Lyon).
The awards will be presented at the Champions League group stage draw ceremony, in Monaco on August 30.
