Toure’s agent, Dimitry Seluk, confirmed yesterday that the midfielder had undergone a medical with an mystery London club, and was close to agreeing a deal to join them.
Seluk said: “Toure @YayaToure has passed a medical in London. Yaya is close to signing a new contract.”
A number of London clubs have been linked with a move for Toure this summer, including both Arsenal, Chelsea and West Ham.

While Seluk has yet to reveal the club Toure will join, he has cut down the the list of his potential destinations.
He added: “It’s not West Ham, 100%. Yaya is a champion. The last place is not for him.”
Seluk also revealed it will not be Crystal Palace, with the Russian agent taking an opportunity to poke fun at the Eagles and manager Roy Hodgson with the news.
“It’s not Crystal Palace, 100%.” he said, “Roy Hodgson said he doesn’t know when his players’ birthdays are. Can Yaya go there?”
Tottenham, Fulham and Watford are all other possible destinations for the 35-year-old, however it is Arsenal who are favourites to land him, with Toure having spent time in with the Gunners as a youngster back in 2003.
Do the Arsenal fans want him though? Some do, some don’t …

Wait, I’m sorry. Peak Yaya Toure was an incredible footballer. But why are Arsenal fans excited about the prospect of him signing at the tender age of 35? I like his experience and leadership qualities. No doubt could be useful off the bench. But not where we need to strengthen!— brooklyngunner (@brooklyngunner) August 29, 2018
Yaya Toure to Arsenal 🤔wouldn’t mind him. His agent said it’s not West Ham or Crystal Palace. Fulham can’t afford his wages. Chelsea got too many midfielders. It’s either Spurs or Us.— Aubameyangismystepdad (@messiismydad) August 28, 2018
Arsenal desperately needed legs in midfield to stop them getting overrun so they're signing Yaya Toure on massive wages who can't run anymore. 🤦— Rowly (@ThisIsRowly) August 29, 2018
The idea that there are Arsenal fans out there that actually think signing Yaya Toure is 1. Happening or 2. A great idea baffle me beyond all belief, Honestly! It's not 2002 FFS! #AFC pic.twitter.com/WzPcT8HCiR
