Chelsea FC still need to convince 22-year-old to stay

Chelsea FC still need to convince Ruben Loftus-Cheek to stay at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer transfer window, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the England international needs to be convinced that he will be an important player at Stamford Bridge to stay at the west London club.

The same story says that Loftus-Cheek’s future at Stamford Bridge remains a source of uncertainty and that he could still go out on loan abroad before the European transfer window closes next week.

According to the same article, Chelsea FC want Loftus-Cheek to stay and fight for his place at Stamford Bridge and then reassess the situation in the January transfer window.

Loftus-Cheek impressed while on loan to Crystal Palace last season and the player is believed to be keen on holding down a regular spot in the first team at Stamford Bridge.

The England star featured during Chelsea FC’s 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town earlier this month but he was not named in the squad for the Blues’ 3-2 win over Arsenal on Saturday evening.

Meanwhile, Chelsea FC will look to make it three wins from three in the Premier League on Sunday when they travel to Newcastle United.
