Manchester United should move for Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino to replace Jose Mourinho, says talkSPORT host

Mourinho is under increasing pressure, with United having lost their last two Premier League matches
Manchester United should move to make Mauricio Pochettino their next manager.
That’s the view of Jason Cundy, who believes current United boss Jose Mourinho will soon be shown the door at Old Trafford.

Pochettino guided Tottenham to a stunning 3-0 win over United at Old Trafford on Monday and, according to Cundy, he would be the ideal candidate to take charge of the Red Devils.
Speaking on the Sports Bar, the talkSPORT presenter said: “If I was in charge of Manchester United and Jose is no longer the man, which increasingly looks like being the case, I would go and get the best man right now in the Premier League: Pochettino.

“He is pound-for-pound the best manager, for the budget he has or hasn’t got, and what he has done with that squad since he has been there. He has improved them.

“Can you imagine if Pochettino had the budget that Jose has had at Manchester United?”
It was a bad night for Jose Mourinho as Manchester United lost 3-0 to Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.
Defeat to Spurs was United’s second in succession, after their 3-2 reverse at Brighton earlier this month.

United players do not appear happy playing under Mourinho, who was in combative mood in his press conference on Monday.

Cundy sees similarities with the end of the self-styled Special One’s second spell at Chelsea and believes it is only a matter of time before he exits Old Trafford.

“I can’t see him lasting until Christmas,” said the former Chelsea defender.

“There is a pattern emerging here. This is a side Jose has had long enough to get to grips with.

“That was is a bitterly disappointing performance. Spurs were brilliant in the second half, they had them on toast.”
