Pochettino praises ‘inspirational’ Mourinho

Everyone seems to be lining up to take a shot at Jose Mourinho lately, but one man who has thrown his backing behind the Portuguese boss in Mauricio Pochettino.

The Manchester United boss has cut a sullen figure in recent weeks, with his moans starting way back in the summer as he grew more and more unhappy at a lack of new signings. There has been speculation suggesting that he is battling against dressing room unrest, with his relationship with Paul Pogba coming under increasing scrutiny.

The grumbles about Mourinho quietened slightly as United got their Premier League campaign underway with a win, but they quickly returned as they slipped to a shock defeat to Brighton in game number 2.

However, despite the negativity surrounding the 55-year-old, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has described the former Chelsea boss as ‘inspirational’ and ‘unbelievable,’ as he prepares to take his Tottenham side to Old Trafford tonight:

“Mourinho, I try to copy a lot of things. For every single manager younger than him, he was the inspirational manager.

“He is an unbelievable manager but, of course, the circumstances that happen with myself and happen with different managers is always going to be up and down.”
