Man United beat Man City to the signing of versatile defender

Manchester United are ready to unveil Lukas Bejger after wrapping up a deal for the full-back. It is believed the Red Devils reached an agreement for Lukas Bejger last month after beating off competition from reigning champions Manchester City for the 16-year-old’s signature.

The teenager made his Poland Under-16 debut against Scotland last year and wore the captain’s armband versus Moldova back in March.

According to Manchester Evening News, the highly-rated youngster has posed for official club portraits with Manchester club and the FA Cup runners-up are preparing to announce his arrival imminently. He was also pictured with club’s skipper Antonio Valencia earlier this summer.

The Pole is most comfortable at centre-back but also has experience of playing at right-back. Lukas Bejger has been playing his football for Lech Poznan, but the youngster has played his final match for the Polish side.

He had trials with Manchester United at the end of July and was invited back in August after impressing officials at Carrington.

The Red Devils meanwhile are looking forward to clashing against Tottenham Hotspur as this match will be crucial to win the silverware.
