Official: Chelsea Fianlised Transfer of Talanted African Defender

Chelsea have announced that Nigeria centre-back Kenneth Omeruo has joined La Liga club Leganes for a season-long loan deal
The 24-year-old Omeruo, moved to Stamford Bridge from Standard Liege back in 2012, however, is yet to make a first-team appearance for the team.

The centre-back has previously represented Championship club Middlesbrough on loan but spent last term with Turkish club Kasimpasa.
Omeruo, who started twice for Nigeria at the 2018 World Cup tournament, has now left Chelsea once again, with La Liga club Leganes securing his services for their La Liga season.
“Kenneth Omeruo will spend the 2018/19 season on loan at Leganes in the Spanish top flight,” confirmed a statement on Chelsea’s official website.
Chelsea currently have more than 30 players out on a season-long loan deal.

Meanwhile, German giants Schalke 04 have reportedly turned their attention to Chelsea midfield star Danny Drinkwater after cooling interest in Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The Bundesliga club were believed to have been interested in securing the services of Loftus-Cheek on a season-long loan for the 2018-19 season, only for the 22-year-old Englishman to turn down a move in order to fight for starting role under Maurizio Sarri.
