Premier League 2018/19: Top 4 prediction

The current transfer window was one of the busiest ones in recent times, with many clubs spending big and bringing in a lot of quality players. The top teams strengthened their squads to challenge for more titles and it was visible in the pre-season games, as there was a refreshing feeling about some of the teams. The managers will now be hoping that these sides can continue to perform at the top level with superb performances yet again, as the season just gets started.

With that being said, a lot of teams will want to impress and challenge for the top four spots in order to secure a Champions League spot, but here are our picks to do so-

The Red Devils got off to a positive start on the opening day of the new campaign and though were not too active in the transfer window, have signed some good players that will fit well into Mourinho’s side. Fred was really good to watch against Leicester and Pogba has been carrying forward the confidence of his World Cup triumph as well.

Though Sanchez did not have a great game on the night, Luke Shaw looks all set to revive his career with the Manchester-based side, as he scored his only goal for them in the opening fixture. United can never be counted out and though they have not done much in the window, the signs of Fred, Dalot, along with the retention of some of their key stars could be enough to see them secure a top-four finish, though the Portuguese manager will surely want more.

Unai Emery’s team was really impressive in the pre-season games and the International Champions Cup. They finished in the top half of a tournament with some of the big names across Europe and put in quite a solid display during the course of the games that were being played.

With Wenger out of the club and a few good signings this summer, the Emirates could once again welcome Champions League football in the upcoming days under the new boss. They do have the quality on the pitch and even on the bench now and there should be a healthy competition for places. Let’s see how they perform when they face off against City in the opening fixture.

Jurgen Klopp is desperate for titles and this could be his best chance to get one. He has made some top signings and now has the squad to not just challenge for the Premier League title, but for the Champions League yet again.

If his players can replicate their form from the last term, finishing in the top four will be a piece of cake for the German manager. Though things are easier said than done, his team look one of the best in England at the moment in terms of balance, ability and form.

The reigning champs of England are a complete package and though they did not really get too many major signings this summer, they managed to add Mahrez, who is more than a handful. They have the players who can really win them more this time, after doing the double last term.

To add to that, Guardiola’s hunger for titles will see him go all out this time, to win Europe’s top cup competition. However, if they perform similarly to how they did last season, securing a Champions League spot and defending their Premier League crown should not be a problem at all.
