New manager under fire as Aubameyang lashes out

Pierre Aubameyang and Daniel Cousin have been named as co-coaches of Gabon after the dismissal last week of Spaniard Jose Antonio Camacho, the country’s football federation.

Camacho, a former Spain coach, was fired last week after a run of only two wins in 17 matches in charge over the last two years.
Aubame is the father of Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang while Cousin, who was a forward at Rangers and Hull City, previously had acted as team manager in charge of logistics.

The 29-year-old revealed that his father is currently in poor health, and Gabon didn’t get his agreement before making their announcement.
“You were wondering why I have problems with you, why I don’t want to come and play for the national team,” Aubameyang wrote on Instagram, in a post directed at the Gabon federation. “You have told the whole world about my father, the so-called coach of the national team, when you did not even get his agreement! Aubameyang wrote on Instagram in a post that tagged the Gabon federation.
“The president of the federation called my dad but did not even care to ask about his state of health. He’s sick at the moment. To rush out and hold a press conference (on Wednesday) when my father said he would give his answer only the next day is another demonstration of why.

“His decision, by the way, is negative. You didn’t even give him a chance to negotiate about his staff members or other things.
”
Clearly, his son isn’t keen to let his father be pressured into a role he doesn’t want. It’s good to see the striker using his platform on social media to get the truth out.
