Dutch international defender says that he is excited by what the Merseyside Reds can achieve this campaign and is aiming to win all competitions with Jurgen Klopp.
The Merseyside Reds have won all of their Premier League fixtures so far this campaign and started in the same vein in the Champions League.
Roberto Firmino has scored a last-minute winner as the Reds beat big-spenders Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 at Anfield.
Speaking to The Evening Standard after the game, the ex-Southampton star said this:
“Everyone is excited; everyone is feeling good, everyone wanted to be part of this.
“We know the season is very long; we have four competitions to play in [but] we want to win everything: that is our mindset. Otherwise, you’d better stop.
“You need to have ambitions, and with the size of this club, with the people around here and the history of the club, we want to try and win everything.”
Dutch defender is yet to taste a trophy with the Reds after joining the team in January from the Saints for a world-record fee for a centre-back.
