Man United linked with January swoop for highly-rated German midfielder

UCL and Premier League giants Manchester United are reportedly keen on signing Germany Under-21 international versatile midfielder Arne Maier, according to the German tabloid newspaper The Bild.
The Manchester-based outfit, who defeated the Swiss side Young Boys 3-0 in their Champions League opener in midweek, have been connected with a move for the Hertha Berlin prodigy ahead of the January transfer window.
The 19-year-old talent, who has featured twice for Germany’s U21 squad, has made four appearances in all competitions (1.Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal) for the Bundesliga outfit thus far this season.

Arne Maier, who is also said to be attracting strong attention from Premier League rivals Arsenal, has racked up 26 senior-team outings for the German side overall, providing one assist.
The report stated the Red Devils and The Gunners are both weighing up offers for the highly-rated all-around midfielder, who is contracted at Hertha Berlin until June of 2022.

The previous term, in all competitions (1.Bundesliga, A-Junioren Bundesliga Nord/Nordost, Regionalliga Nordost, DFB-Pokal, A-Junioren Bundesliga Endrunde, Europa League) highly-rated German star made 32 appearances for Die Alte Dame, scored one goal and provided three assists.
