Man Utd vs Wolves: Why Marouane Fellaini is a ‘dream’ for defenders - Paul Merson

That’s the view of Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson, who says that the Belgium international is a ‘dream for centre-halves.’

United started the new Premier League season in poor form after losing two of their opening three games.

But they have since picked up, winning three in a row in all competitions.

Fellaini has been drafted into the starting line-up for the victories and has been a key part of the team’s recent success.
The 30-year-old was again named in the starting XI for the visit of Wolves this afternoon, as United look to continue their good run.

Mourinho was critical of his defence after the team conceded seven goals in the first three Premier League games.

But Fellaini has been fundamental in helping to steady the ship and they have only conceded once in the last three.

And former Arsenal midfielder Merson says he does not think Fellaini gets the credit he deserves.

“He’s a clever player,” he told Sky Sports. “I think he doesn’t get as much credit (that he deserves).
“He always gets in the right position, he knows where to stand.
“You never see Mourinho shouting on the bench ‘get there, stand there’.
“He tells him his job and he never falls asleep.
