Ian Wright sends message to Man United supporters about Anthony Martial

Ian Wright believes Anthony Martial made a point to Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho in the Champions League mid-week.

The France international was linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the 2018 summer transfer window.

Martial was linked with a potential move to Serie A giants Inter Milan and Juventus as well as Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.
The 22-year-old ended up staying at Manchester United despite Jose Mourinho’s apparent willingness to sell Martial.

The French forward got on the score sheet in Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Young Boys in the Champions League last week.

Former Arsenal striker Wright believes Martial answered his critics with a performance in Switzerland.
“He doesn’t look happy or sad,” Wright told BBC Radio 5 Live. “He has a poker face. He is asking the manager questions. He has done the business.”

Manchester United finished in second spot in the Premier League table last term to secure their best finish since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.
The Red Devils ended the 2017-18 season without a trophy to put pressure on Mourinho at the end of his second season in charge.

Manchester United signed Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred, FC Porto defender Diogo Dalot and Stoke City goalkeeper Lee Grant in the summer.

The Red Devils will make the daunting trip to West Ham United in their next Premier League game.
