Super Lig giants linked with surprise move for Chelsea €17m signing

The Turkish top-flight Super Lig heavyweights Besiktas are reportedly looking at a swoop for Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud, who’s current deal at the Blues expires at the end of the campaign, according to reports.
Turkey’s one of the most popular sports newspapers Fanatik, via Turkish-Football, reports that Besiktas are keen on a deal for the French striker, with the Turkish club looking at a free transfer at the end of the campaign.

Olivier is reportedly Besiktas’ replacement for Spanish striker Alvaro Negredo, who left the club in the summer to join Al Nassr (Saudi Pro League) in the United Arab Emirates.

The Turkish giants could be set to make a move during the January transfer window, unless the Blues extend the Frenchman’s deal at the club.

If Besiktas wanted to land Giroud in January, they would have to pay, whilst if the club’s management were to wait until next summer they could get Frenchman on a free.

Giroud has been in fine form for the Blues thus far this season (provided 3 assists in 4 Premier League matches) but has found starting chances rare.
