Blow for Man United as six players are ruled out of League opener against Leicester

The transfer window is officially shut with all focus now on the start of the premier league and we will be reviewing United’s opener against Leicester. Manchester United had an underwhelming pre-season and are set to be without up to six players for the game on Friday at Old Trafford.

Nemanja Matic, Sergio Romero and Marcos Rojo got world cup related injuries which keep them out of the clash. Antonio Valencia suffered an injury during the second game of the pre-season and is expected to miss the first few games of the season. Herera was expected to man the midfield but got injured in United last game against Bayern Munich.

While five other players just returned from the World Cup, which includes Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Ashley Young, Marouane Fellaini and Jesse Lingard. Mourinho is going to assess their fitness ahead of the match against Leicester.

Manchester United will be without at least six players for their Premier League opener against Leicester but Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku could be available.

However new signing Fred should make his debut against Leicester in the midfield but full-back Diogo Dalot is still out injured until September.


This is the conundrum facing Mourinho as he prepares his team to begin the challenge for the title in front of home fans.
