Liverpool could make January approach for Napoli key man

Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea’s hopes of landing a Napoli star look set to fade more after the
Serie A side planned to offer the creative midfielder a huge new contract, which would see his release clause raised significantly.
The EPL trio are reported admirers of Poland international star Piotr Zielinski with all three said to have made enquiries for the talent over various stages this summer.

While a firm offer didn’t materialise, all three are reported to be keeping a close eye on the midfielder, with his current contract due to expire in 2021.
However, according to the Italian sport newspaper Tuttosport, Partenopei are reportedly ready to offer Piotr a contract extension until 2023 – and with it a significant pay rise.

The Polish talent was the star man versus Milan the previous week, netting twice as the Naples based outfit came from 2-0 down to claim an incredible 3-2 success.

According to the Italian newspaper, Napoli fielded a series of enquiries this transfer window for the former Udinese man, though no-one would pay the €65 million release clause in his current contract.
