The EFL Championship side Aston Villa have reportedly entered the
hunt to sign Liverpool 21-year-old attacker Sheyi Ojo as the club’s
management looking to bolster attacking options ahead of 2018/19 season.
The technically gifted star, who spent the previous season on loan at
the promoted Premier Leauge side Fulham, is allegedly one of a host of
players who could leave Anfield on Thursday.
The British tabloid newspaper The Sun reports that Ojo could be set
for another campaign of Championship action, with Aston Villa the latest
club to show strong interest in his services.
The newspaper says that another EFL Championship club West Bromwich
Albion have previously been knocked back with a £12 million bid for the
forward, while Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough and Leeds United are
also keen on the player.
Sheyi Ojo, who moved to the Reds academy
from the League Two (fourth tier) side Milton Keynes Dons back in 2011,
has made 24 appearances in all competitions (Championship, EFL Cup, FA
Cup), netted 4 goals and provided 2 assists.
Despite interest from the Villa, there are no official
negotiations between clubs for Sheyi Ojo and the English club running
out of time to secure a deal for him.
