Jose Mourinho ‘lost patience’ with £65,000-a-week star

According to the London Evening Standard, Jose Mourinho will focus on Marcus Rashford after losing patience with Anthony Martial, who has been repeatedly linked with the Old Trafford exit after falling out of favour under the Portuguese due to his inconsistent performances.

Marcus Rashford has also been regularly overlooked in his favoured position through the middle, but the same publication claims that the academy product has the manager’s full trust and will be given more chances to impress.

Jose Mourinho is said to be settled to mould Rashford into one of the best players in the world in his position and turn him into the complete forward, but whereas the France international’s future remains is still uncertain as ever.

With Ed Woodward keen on retaining the 22-year-old winger’s services while the boss is willing to sanction the Frenchman’s departure.

Former England internationals Alan Shearer and Jamie Carragher have both urged Marcus Rashford to leave Manchester United if he intends to play regular football.


The 20-year-old has scored in both matches during the international break against Spain and Switzerland but will miss several matches of Premier League due to the red card.
