Liverpool
has embraced the brave new world of blockchain-based currency trading,
after signing a new partnership with UK fintech brand TigerWit.
Under the new global partnership, TigerWit, which is Credible Global Forex Trading Platform, will become the Premier League giants’ Official Online Foreign Exchange Trading Partner.
The agreement will focus on driving technological development in Britain, Asia and Europe – where the Reds have huge numbers of fans – and helping to increase downloads of the TigerWit trading app.
TigerWit will enjoy brand exposure at Merseyside and across club social media channels and will have corporate matchday privileges and hospitality at the stadium.
The brand will also hold corporate image rights to Liverpool players and has already put these rights into action with a TV commercial featuring summer signings Naby Keita and Alisson Becker and also Netherlands international Georginio Wijnaldum, which was launched this week.
Liverpool now joins the ranks of a growing number of Premier League sides sponsored by currency trading platforms.
Last month rivals Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City, Southampton, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace, Cardiff City and Brighton & Hove Albion all announced new partnerships with crypto asset trading platform eToro.
It appears to be a new trend for the top-flight clubs, and we will see how the partnership will evolve.
