Man United dealt injury blow ahead of Watford clash as key midfielder misses training

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini is a doubt for the Red Devils’ clash with Watford after withdrawing from the international break with Belgium with a knee injury.
The Belgian powerhouse was handed his first start of the season in Jose Mourinho’s side 2-0 win against Burnley and was praised by the manager afterwards for his performance.

Belgium face Scotland in a friendly on Friday before opening their Nations League campaign against Iceland three days after but Marouane Fellaini will not feature in either game.
The 30-year-old midfielder has been struggling with a knee injury throughout the last 18 months and will now be a doubt for Manchester United’s clash with Watford in nine days’ time.

The injury comes at a bad time for the FA Cup runners-up, who will be hoping to kick on after a poor start to the Premier League season. If Marouane Fellaini fails to recover in time, it could be a reprieve for the summer signing Fred.

The Brazilian was benched for the win against Burnley after starting the first three games following his £52 million move from Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk.
