Real Madrid reportedly have nearly €400 million to spend in the upcoming transfer windows, as they continue the search for President Florentino Perez’s next Galactico.
Ever since Cristiano Ronaldo left the Santiago Bernabeu, the Los
Blancos have been looking not only at potential replacements but also at
their next set of Galacticos. After all their last bit of heavy
spending was on James Rodriguez after the Colombian impressed the world
at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. However, despite being linked with not only
some of the world’s best but even La Liga stars, nothing every
materialized with Real Madrid opting to re-sign Mariano Diaz.
The
La Liga giants then proceeded to hand the former Lyon star, Ronaldo’s
old number 7 jersey as if the pressure wasn’t enough. However, the
25-year-old is yet to make an appearance for his new club, with the
likes of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and even Marco Asensio in incredible
form. But it looks like a search for a replacement isn’t over yet, as
reports have indicated that the club has a massive €372 million
war-chest just waiting to be spent. The report from Dario AS further adds that not only did Florentino Perez do everything to lure Neymar to the Bernabeu, but at the same time Al Khelaifi refused to budge and eventually the Brazilian had to stay. Now with Real Madrid looking at the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Edinson Cavani, Eden Hazard, Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford, Antoine Griezmann and many others as potential signings, they need to make sure the money is spent on the right place.
And fast, especially since president Florentino Perez wants to in-debt the Los Blancos to reinforce and further improve the Santiago Bernabeu. This could potentially leave the La Liga giants in debt for at least a few years, with reports indicating that it could be somewhere around €580 million over and above the expenses they need to pay for day-to-day activities.
