Arsenal accelerate plans to replace Ivan Gazidis with Serie A giants CEO

Arsenal have made an official offer to outgoing Juventus Italian chief executive Giuseppe Marotta, according to a report in Calcio Mercato.
The Italian has been CEO of the Old Lady since 2010, in addition to being general manager of “Sports Area”, a sporting ownership conglomerate.

Having served in leadership positions at various Italian clubs, Marotta spent six years at Serie A outfit Sampdoria before joining the Turin-based outfit.
Under his guidance, Bianconeri have won seven consecutive Serie A trophies, and have appeared twice in the Champions League final.

The now 61-year-old chief has also overseen the signing of stars such as French star Paul Pogba, veteran Italian midfielder Andrea Pirlo, Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain, and most recently Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
The north London giants are reported to have tabled a €3.5 million-a-year offer to bring Giuseppe to Emirates Stadium, although Inter Milan are also suggested to be in the hunt for the chief executive.

Change is afoot at Gunners, with Stan Kroenke now alone as the majority shareholder, Spanish manager Unai Emery in as manager, and possibly Marotta in as a new CEO.
