Marcus Rashford left ‘bemused’ by Jose Mourinho’s claim he cannot handle pressure

The 20-year-old forward was branded 'scared on the pitch' by his manager after United's 3-2 defeat of Newcastle

Jose Mourinho’s suggestion that Marcus Rashford cannot handle the pressure of playing for Manchester United has left the forward ‘bemused’, according to reports.

Mourinho, the United manager, branded England forward Rashford ‘scared on the pitch’ after the club’s comeback defeat of Newcastle.

Rashford and Scott McTominay, the midfielder, were substituted when United were 2-0 down on Saturday evening, with the Red Devils then going on to secure a 3-2 win over Rafa Benitez’s side.
The Portuguese said after the game that Rashford, 20, and McTominay, 21, were unable to deal with the pressure caused by the ‘manhunt’ against him and and his players.
“Maybe it was my wrong decision to play Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay,” Mourinho suggested.
