Mourinho’s suggestion that Marcus Rashford cannot handle the pressure
of playing for Manchester United has left the forward ‘bemused’,
according to reports.
Rashford and Scott McTominay, the midfielder, were substituted when United were 2-0 down on Saturday evening, with the Red Devils then going on to secure a 3-2 win over Rafa Benitez’s side.
The Portuguese said after the game that Rashford, 20, and McTominay, 21, were unable to deal with the pressure caused by the ‘manhunt’ against him and and his players.
“Maybe it was my wrong decision to play Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay,” Mourinho suggested.
“They were not ready for this level of pressure that the manhunting is bringing. v
