REPORTS- Julen Lopetegui one defeat away from the sack!

Real Madrid have been winless in each of their last three matches. To make things worse, Los Blancos have also failed to register a goal in those three outings, which have been two losses against Sevilla and CSKA Moscow and a goalless stalemate versus Atletico Madrid.

Barcelona have dropped points after enduring their own problems but the Whites have failed to capitalize upon their rivals’ dropped points.
The defending European champions are known to have one of the most notorious and demanding boards across world football who have very little room for sentiments. Rightly so, they believe that football is a game of results and failing to deliver as per the standard of the world’s best club will result in going separate ways.
Julen Lopetegui’s job has recently come under spotlight after the defeat in Moscow last week. The former Spain boss was appointed at the helm less than four months ago, but with 10 games as Madrid’s coach thus far, he has won only five of them, failing to beat a single ‘major opponent’ in the league.

Upon being asked about what his thoughts are about news circulating about a sack, he was defensive and hit back at those claims.

“We don’t analyse what people might think,” Lopetegui said in his pre-match press conference when he was asked if he believed his job was under threat. “We are working every day on trying to improve. The club’s objectives are still intact and nothing more. You have to respect all opinions but it’s logical that at a club like Real Madrid you are always under heavy examination. But we will be judged by what we achieve by the end of the season.”
