Kane Said he’s aiming to match Messi and Ronaldo

Spurs striker Harry Kane has admitted that he is hoping to reach the goalscoring standard set by legendary duo Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo during his career.
England captain Kane will come face to face with one of his idols tonight when Spurs face Barcelona in the Champions League, with the 25-year-old revealing that trying to emulate Messi and Ronaldo’s sensational goalscoring feats over the last decade is a massive motivation to him and he is ready to achieve the aim.
“He set the standard, he and Cristiano Ronaldo gone above the normal standard when they are scoring 50 or 60 goals a season,” said Kane ahead of Wednesday night’s clash at Wembley.
“As a striker, I want to try and match that. He’s definitely set the standard for the rest of us and he still is.

“It motivates and encourage me to get even better and improve and hopefully one day to score as many, if not more than he has.

“It’s a great test for us. As players, you want to play against the best in world and Messi is certainly that, a fantastic player, and we will do our best to stop him.”
