3. Xherdan Shaqiri
The signing of Shaqiri went slightly under the radar due to the huge
fees splashed out on the other three signings, but fans have been crying
out for some depth on the wings.
The talented Swiss international set up two goals in his first Premier League start against Southampton, and his ability to play on both wings or as a number ten will be a huge boost over the busy festive period.
2. Naby Keita
Liverpool’s pursuit of Keita was quite bizarre, as the Reds had to
wait a year for their newest prized asset. The Guinean international
seems tailor-made for Jürgen Klopp’s system, but he has not exactly had
the perfect start. The 23 year-old was sensational in the season opener
against West Ham, but has been in and out of the team since then.
1. Alisson Becker
This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, as fans voted
overwhelmingly in favour of Alisson as their signing of the summer. The
Brazilian has conceded just three times in eight Premier League games, a
rate that will see him concede just 14 goals if that continues for the
full 38 games.
His speed, distribution skills, composure and incredible reflexes finally solve a problem that the Reds have had for over a decade.
