So far this summer, the Gunners have
been active in the window completing move for Bernd Leno, Stephan
Lichtsteiner, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Lucas Torreira and Matteo
Guendouzi.
However, this five signings might not be
Emery’s last activity this window as it’s claimed the Spanish boss is
also interested in a pacey winger, or direct winger to add to his ranks,
and possibly a new left-back as he considers selling Nacho Monreal, as
reported by Goal.com.
Although, there is no specific player
mentioned as per Goal who could replace Nacho, but there no doubt
whichever player would be joining the club this summer would cost below
£40-45m while Arsenal could do with an upgrade on players like Danny
Welbeck and Alex Iwobi as options out wide for same £40-45m fee.
Reports, however, does say the Gunners
have already spent their transfer budget for the summer, meaning any new
signings this summer would require the club selling some of their
current players before further additions could be made at the club.
This tenure could be the start of an
exciting new era for the club after Emery replaced the long-serving
Arsene Wenger in the summer, but one feels a couple more signings could
still be necessary to help the north London giants back into the top
four.
