The La Liga giants Real Madrid have ended their long-term pursuit of
Chelsea forward Eden Hazard, according to the reports in the Spanish
press.
The Spanish daily sports newspaper Diario AS report, via the London
Evening Standard, that new Los Blancos boss Julen Lopetegui is prepared
to give Isco a more prominent role in the squad and is unwilling to
spend £200 million to secure a reported deal for Eden Hazard.
Spain international Marco Asensio’s rise in the Madrid ranks is also
an essential factor in any move, with the highly rated Spaniard
connected with a move elsewhere due to a lack of senior-team action for
the UEFA Champions League holders.
The Belgian star Eden Hazard had been linked with a huge-money move
to the Spanish giants, ending his six-year spell at the London-based
giants.
After the World Cup, Chelsea prized asset said that he could stay at the Blues but that Real Madrid had a firm interest in him.
However, it now seems likely that Hazard will be at West London next season in spite of all of the rumours.
