Belgian giants look to hijack summer deal for Liverpool star with late move

The Belgian club Standard Liege are reportedly in the hunt to sign Serbia international Lazar Markovic from Liverpool this transfer market.
The forward is likely to be moved on ahead of next campaign, with Jurgen Klopp keen to trim the team of its fringe players before the window slams shut in two weeks’ time.

The Greek side Olympiakos are interested in a summer deal for the ex-Benfica player, and according to states from the Daily Mail, Standard Liege would be interested in recruiting the wide player this summer.
Lazar has previous experience of playing in Jupiler Pro League as a result of his exploits with RSC Anderlecht. He spent last campaign on loan with the Belgian giants but failed to convince when called upon.

The Reds are interested in offloading Lazar Markovic and according to the latest reports, will seek a fee in the region of £5 million to £7 million for his services.

Olympiakos have reportedly agreed to personal terms with Lazar ahead of a proposed summer move, but it looks like Standard Liege could be weighing up a late move.
