Jose Mourinho told 29-year-old would be great Man United signing

Craig Burley backs Manchester United's pursuit of Chelsea FC winger Willian

Willian would be a great addition to FC Barcelona or Manchester United this summer, Craig Burley has claimed.

The Brazil international has been heavily linked with a move to the La Liga champions and the Premier League runners up.

Willian struggled to hold down a starting spot in Chelsea FC in the final months of Antonio Conte’s reign at Stamford Bridge.

The Italian head coach has since been replaced by his compatriot Maurizio Sarri to offer Willian a lifeline at Chelsea FC.

However, the 29-year-old is still attracting interest from two of Europe’s biggest clubs in the current transfer window.

FC Barcelona have reportedly made three bids for Willian but Chelsea FC have resisted the temptation to sell.

Former Chelsea FC defender Burley believes the Brazilian forward would be a great addition to Manchester United.

“I don’t know why he didn’t feature more for Chelsea,” Burley told ESPN FC.
“When this guy gets on the ball and driving at players, he is as quick running with the ball as most players are without it.

“Wherever it is he goes, FC Barcelona or Man United, he’ll be a great addition.”

Chelsea FC finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a spot in the Champions League.

The Blues snapped up Italy international Jorginho in a £57m deal from Napoli earlier this summer.
