Chelsea have reportedly turned down the opportunity to land Arsenal
and Tottenham Hotspur target Andre Gomes, as part of a deal to take
Brazilian star Willian to Barcelona.
Mundo Deportivo reports that Blaugrana were forced to turn their
attention to another Brazilian winger Malcom when it became clear that
the Blues were not interested in selling the forward.
The La Liga giants tabled a cash offer which included Andre, with the
Catalan club looking to offload the player this transfer market.
Blaugrana hit the headlines when the club hijacked a move for Malcom
at the last minute, with the star appearing set to join the Italian
giants AS Roma.
Both the Gunners and the Spurs have also been strongly connected with a move for the Portuguese central midfielder.
Spanish manager Unai Emery is a known admirer of the star, but doubts have been cast about a possible move to the Emirates.
Tottenham Hotspur had previously been named as the star’s most likely destination after falling out of favour at the Camp Nou.
