Real Madrid letting Cristiano Ronaldo go, only means that Florentino Perez has to go out and bring in a brand new set of Galacticos, with their next one costing somewhere around €215 million.
The Los Blancos and their president Florentino Perez is well knowing
for bringing in the most famous stars to help boost their chances at
trophies. From the great Ronaldo Nazario to David Beckham and of course
Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid have had the best in the world playing
for them at one point or another. However, now with the club without a
Ballon d’Or winning star for the first time in 18 years, the La Liga
giants are chasing the next best thing.
With Barcelona storming to the La Liga title losing just one game along the way, Real Madrid found themselves lagging behind and struggling to make up the ground at times. However, now with Zinedine Zidane gone and new manager, Julen Lopetegui checked in and ready to get rolling about, the club has started looking for a replacement or at least a potential stand-in for the recently departed Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 33-year-old left the Santiago Bernabeu after nine very fruitful years and thus has left Real Madrid with a gaping hole in their squad to fill. And given that Real Madrid hasn’t been very active in this season’s transfer window so far, many expect the La Liga giants to loosen the purse-strings and just let the money flow. However, things may happen sooner rather than later, with Real Madrid looking to sign Premier League superstar Harry Kane.
Lopetegui analyzed the team and decided he needs another striker. He’s satisfied with Bale & Benzema but knows the season is long & a top level striker is needed. Last season, Real Madrid missed a lot of points in La Liga when Bale was injured. Julen wants to avoid this. [marca] pic.twitter.com/e94DLEkICz— SB (@Realmadridplace) July 29, 2018
Which is why Perez will reportedly drop everything and go and meet with Kane next week to convince the Tottenham star that he is destined for greater things at the Bernabeu. And while the 25-year-old Russia 2018 Golden Boot winner has just signed a massive new deal with the White Hart Lane side, Perez believes that the transfer fee of around €215 million and a massive salary bump could convince both club and the player.
Author’s take:
Real Madrid needs a marquee signing or if not that, at least someone who can hopefully replace Cristiano Ronaldo’s goals and at the same time make up for when Karim Benzema disappears. If that someone has to anyone, it will be Harry Kane especially given the Englishman’s ability to make the best with the little that he gets. However, if Real Madrid does end up signing Kane, the 25-year-old will need time to adjust which is when he’ll need to depend on Benzema and co to help him out.
