The report is according to Italian outlet La Gazzetta Dello Sport,
that claims Premier League giants Chelsea, Manchester City and
Barcelona are in three-way battle to secure the signing of Bosnian
international and Juventus star Miralem Pjanic, who is reportedly
available for transfer for a fee over €80million.
There have been a lot of turn around at
Juventus since the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo this window. Having paid
a huge fee to secure Ronaldo’s signing from Real Madrid, Juventus are
looking to balance the books so they can meet up with Financial Fair
Play rules.
Pjanic is one of the best, complete and
most talented midfielders in the world. The Bosnian midfielder is at the
peak of his game at the moment and last season, he was an integral part
of Max Allegri’s team that won the Serie A title despite keen
competition from Napoli and also helped the Serie A giants to semi-final
finish at the Champions League.
In all outings last season, Pjanic
registered 44 appearances and was directly involved in 21 goals –
scoring seven goals and creating 14 assists. The Bosnian is a versatile
midfielder that has the ability to maneuver the ball with both feet and
is fantastic from the set piece situations as well.
At Chelsea, however, the midfielder is a
major concerned. There new signing Jorginho, is expected to play
alongside N’Golo Kante in a defensive midfield role while the latter in a
central midfield role.
The signing of Pjanic is likely to serve as
replacement to Fabregas as their advanced and creative midfielder.
