Arsenal in official discussions to wrap up summer deal for £27m-rated star

Arsenal have been connected with a potential move with Sevilla defensive midfielder Steven N’Zonzi, with the Gunners reportedly opening negotiations with the midfielder according to the British newspaper the Independent.

The star has impressed many since leaving Stoke City back in 2015.

The Frenchman has revitalised his professional career since joining the Spanish club, where under new Arsenal manager Unai Emery, the La Liga side beat Liverpool to lift the Europa League in 2016.

In spite of the Gunners’ acquisition of one-time Lorient talented midfielder Matteo Guendouzi and former Sampdoria defensive midfielder Lucas Torreira, Unai Emery is set on improving his midfield with more signings.

The midfielder reportedly opened negotiations with the Gunners this weekend, with Unai Emery hoping for a reunion for the star he signed for Sevilla back in 2015.

Steven’s first spell in England began in 2009 when Blackburn Rovers signed France international.
The midfielder would go on to make 86 matches for Rovers, before moving to Stoke City when Blackburn were relegated to the EFL Championship in 2012.


The previous term, in all competitions, Steven N’Zonzi made 44 matches, scored one goal and provided two assists.
