Chelsea have registered an interest in the Serie A giants SS Lazio
versatile midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to a report from
the Italian national sports newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
Maurizio Sarri’s appointment as Blues boss has seemingly kick-started
the club’s transfer movements, and they’ve expressed an interest in
landing the 23-year-old star, Italian sources claim.
Another Premier League giants Manchester United are interested in
signing Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, as are La Liga giants Barcelona, and as
such, SS Lazio have apparently put a whopping £115 million price tag on
his head.
However, the Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport suggest that the
West London club will try to reduce that sum by offering a
player-plus-cash deal, one which would see Spain international Cesc
Fabregas join Biancocelesti.
The Serie A club were originally not
interested in the parting company with Milinkovic-Savic, but with
interest in him so high, their attitude has now softened, and as such,
the Blues have made their move.
The last term, in all competitions (Europa League, Coppa Italia,
Serie A, Supercoppa TIM), Serbian midfielder made 48 appearances, scored
14 goals and provided nine assists.
