Liverpool in battle with Premier League rivals for Liga NOS exciting prodigy

Liverpool, Arsenal and Everton are all reportedly interested in landing Porto’s Diogo Leite who has an exit clause of €15 million, according to the Portuguese publication, O Jogo.
The Reds and the Gunners have both been linked with the star for months. Arsenal were reportedly willing to pay his buy-out clause before it was stated that Liverpool trying to beat them to his signature.

The Liga NOS giants Porto are keen to renew the 19-year-old star’s current contract amid the Premier League interest in the centre-back.
Leite made 34 appearances for Porto B in the UEFA Youth League and Ledman Liga Pro last season. He also played an essential part in their Premier League International Cup trophy-winning run.

The Gunners got a first-hand view of the star in the final of that competition, as it took place at the Emirates Stadium against their Under-23 team.

Leite’s career began with Liga Pro side Leixões before he moved to Dragões where he formed a successful partnership with another Portuguese ace Diogo Queirós.

“I’m always very focused, I’m aggressive in the duels, I always try to play the best and disarm, I think I’m strong,” Leite said when questioned to describe his style of play.
