Done: Man United confirm one transfer of versatile star ahead of pre-season tour

Manchester United have traveled to the USA ahead of their pre-season tour and they were without Daley Blind, who is on the verge of returning to Ajax, per reports.

The coach of Eredivisie side Ajax Ten Hag revealed previously that they were in talks with United to sign the player after Jose Mourinho okayed his departure.

“(He is) a player with a lot of experience, in the Premier League and in the Dutch national team,” Ten Hag said per Sky Sports.

“He is a stable personality. Just like the arrival of Dusan Tadic, this also counts as a considerable effort of the club. We are doing everything, but it also depends on other parties.”
Since then, United have been in negotiation with the side. It is claimed that United were torn in-between travelling with the player to Los Angeles or not.

Nonetheless, the Red Devils squad left on Sunday and Blind was not among the party that traveled, which confirms he is on the cusp of completing the switch, report MEN.

He was signed by Man United from Ajax but has struggled to stake a claim in the first team of Jose Mourinho. A return to Ajax is certain to help him get his career back on track.

The 28-year-old star will seal a  £14.1m transfer which could potentially rise and the confirmation of the deal is expected to be made within this week.

Blind can play as a defensive midfielder, a centre-back and a left full back but Mourinho has preferred other players to him in those positions.
