The Belgium international was pictured
with some Norweigian fans in the coastal city of Marbella as he’s
soaking up the sun following an hard-earned three place finish with
Belgium at the World Cup.
The Chelsea winger performances for his
country in Russia were superb, in which he rounded it up with a goal in
the final games against England, and he is now expected to be the
subject of intense interest from the Champions League holders.
Real Madrid are believed to be in the
market following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus, and
having ruled out a move to sign Neymar this summer, it appears the Los
Blancos’ main priority would be signing Hazard this summer.
Hazard, however, have himself been open
to the possibility of swapping Chelsea for Real Madrid, telling
reporters after his country’s third-place play-off victory against
Gareth Southgate’s men that his move to Madrid could be on the cards.
The winger said:
“I will go on holiday and ask myself the right questions.
“After six wonderful years at Chelsea, it might be time to discover something different.”
Even Belgium’s national team boss
Roberto Martinez agreed on a sentiment that Hazard should consider
plying his trade somewhere else, suggesting it may be a good time for
Hazard to bring his six-year association with the club to an end.
Martinez said:
“Players need new challenges and new projects.
“Perhaps it’s a good time for [Chelsea] and for Hazard [to split]. I would be very surprised if Chelsea didn’t have big offers for him right now.
“It could be the best time [for Hazard] to try something different. He is a player who has maturity and a lot of leadership. His play is based on talent.
“Hazard could carry a new project anywhere in the world. He is at the best moment of his career. He could fit in any team in the world.”
