Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes: comment about Diogo Dalot’s Man Utd debut

Manchester United came off their first Champions League game against Young boys with a resounding victory but new signing Diogo Dalot has earned the most plaudits for his barnstorming display on his debut.
Dalot joined Manchester United last summer in a  £19 million deal from Portuguese club FC Porto but the youngster has been out of action due to an injury.

He had returned to action but Mourinho opted to play Antonio Valencia in the Premier league last weekend but Dalot was given the nod last night in the Red Devils Champions League bout.
Paul Pogba orchestrated play from the middle of the pack for the visitors and he was on the score-sheet twice in the first half of the game. Anthony Martial, who also started the game increased United’s tally to three goals in the 66th minutes.

Dalot was outstanding and Speaking after the game, Man United legend Rio Ferdinand said of him:
‘He will have tougher tests but as a young kid to come in, especially after an injury, is really promising.” He told BT Sport.
“Remember, he only played eight games for Porto. He’s going to have a good future if he keeps improving.’

Scholes was also impressed with the outing of the youngster and he added:

‘I think it’s a really good start from him. Going forward he looks fantastic. He looks quick enough. It’s a great start.’
